It’s not every day that hypercar maker Koenigsegg launches a new model, so when it does the car community tends to get very excited. The current car turning heads is called the Jesko, named after the father of the CEO and founder, Christian von Koenigsegg.

The Jesko comes in bright orange, a colour Koenigsegg has associated with since 2004. The twin-turbo V8 Jesko was
first unveiled in 2019 but a pre-production prototype was recently revealed, showcasing the work of mechanical art. It will come in two versions – the Jesko and the Jesko Absolut.

It is a beautiful-looking car and super-fast too. According to Koenigsegg, simulations of this car’s prowess “go way past our target of 500kph or 310mph”. The Jesko Absolut is streamlined for extreme speeds while the Jesko has a double-profiled boomerang shaped rear wing.

Established in 1994 in Sweden, Koenigsegg is also involved in “green technology” development programmes beginning with the CCXR (“Flower Power”) flex-fuel sports car (the world’s first green super car) and continuing through to the new Jesko.

Production has begun and first deliveries are expected in Spring 2022.
